Mike Kubic
CEO, Chief Product & Technology Architect
Mike Kubic is the CEO and Chief Product and Technology Architect of Advanced Rotational Dynamics, a company that he cofounded in partnership with Rudy Garriga. Mike brings over 30 years of experience in strategic product development, operations and business management, and enterprise leadership, as well as specific technical expertise in the design and manufacturing of complex high-power electromechanical systems. Throughout his career, Mike has influenced numerous leading-edge technology developments and manufacturing operations in electric vehicles, power and energy systems, wireless communications, and aerospace and defense.
Prior to founding ARD, Mike was the Chief Technology Officer of Clean Wave Technologies, another company that he cofounded with Rudy Garriga in 2008. During their time at Clean Wave, Mike and Rudy pioneered the development of advanced AC Induction electric machines, power electronics, and control systems for vehicle electrification and coauthored over 30 patents for the technology.
Previously, Mike was a consultant to Tesla Motors for the development and manufacturing of the original electric drive system for Tesla’s first vehicle, the Tesla Roadster, a high-performance electric-powered sports car.
Additionally, Mike brings along a broad industry background, having held a variety of leadership roles in business, engineering, and operations management at Accelewave Wireless Solutions, Remec Wireless Systems, and Spectrian Corporation, working in the development and manufacturing of innovative high-power RF electronic systems for commercial wireless telecommunications networks. Mike spent the early part of his career working in diverse engineering and product development roles at TRW Space and Electronics Group and Rantec Electronic Systems, supporting the aerospace and defense industries with the development and integration of advanced high-power RF antenna electronics and test systems.
Mike holds a MSME from Stanford University and a BSCE from Carnegie Mellon University.
Rudy Garriga
COO, Chief Engineer
Rudy Garriga is the COO and Chief Engineer of Advanced Rotational Dynamics, a company that he cofounded in partnership with Mike Kubic. Rudy brings over 40 years of experience in technology innovation, product development, and engineering management. He is an expert in machine design, electromechanical systems, and materials science, as well as manufacturing operations, strategies, and processes.
Prior to founding ARD, Rudy was the Vice President of Engineering and Operations of Clean Wave Technologies, another company that he cofounded with Mike Kubic in 2008. During their time at Clean Wave, Rudy and Mike pioneered the development of advanced AC Induction electric machines, power electronics, and control systems for vehicle electrification and coauthored over 30 patents for the technology.
Previously, Rudy was the lead engineer at Tesla Motors for development and production release of the original electric motor for Tesla’s first vehicle, the Tesla Roadster, a high-performance electric-powered sports car.
Additionally, Rudy has held various senior engineering and management positions at leading semiconductor process equipment companies, such as ASML, LAM Research, Varian Associates, Eaton Corporation, and Applied Materials, where he led teams to develop revolutionary robotic processing equipment for plasma etching, CVD, PVD, and photoresist coating that represented pioneering advances in the evolution of silicon wafers used in microelectronics manufacturing.
Rudy has also successfully run his own consumer products company, Slick 7 Products, for over 30 years, as the world’s leading supplier of high-performance electric motors and components for the competitive slot car racing market.
Rudy holds a MSMSE, a BSMSE, and a BSME from the University of California, Berkeley.
