Mike Kubic and Rudy Garriga with the Mission R electric motorcycle from Mission Motors, featuring the high‑performance AC Induction electric motor that they developed, which recorded the fastest electric vehicle lap time on record at the famous Laguna Seca raceway in Monterey, California, USA
Company History
Mike Kubic and Rudy Garriga met in 2006 while working on the first high-performance electric drive system for mass production at Tesla Motors.
Mike and Rudy were joined by a shared passion for pioneering technology and break-through products, with each also sharing top-tier academic backgrounds in their fields. Mike earned advanced engineering degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and Stanford University and Rudy from the University of California, Berkeley.
As innovators and entrepreneurs, coming back together after their time at Tesla, they realized they had the unique opportunity to create a disruptive technology for the emerging market in vehicle electrification.
Capitalizing on their complimentary expertise and skill-sets, the pair formed Clean Wave Technologies in the heart of Silicon Valley in 2008. Their goal was to provide high-power density, efficient, reliable, and cost-effective electric drive systems for the mass market without the use of rare-earth materials. After over a decade of research and development, they achieved their goal with bringing to market a portfolio of leading-edge electric drive system products, as well as having over 30 patents granted for the technology.
Now through ARD, with this shared experience in technology innovation, engineering design, product development, and manufacturing operations, Mike and Rudy are well positioned to continue offering their decades of combined deep subject-matter expertise in electric machines, power electronics, control systems, and system integration to the vehicle electrification market and beyond.
